AIPA’s Safety & Technical Team exists to advance the safety, technical and operational interests of our members - and to strengthen the standards that underpin Australia’s aviation industry.

Our goal is to ensure that pilots’ professional expertise remains central to aviation safety and that members receive the right support whenever safety or technical matters arise.

What We Do

The Safety & Technical Team works to:

• Activate the AIPA Response Plan - if members are involved in an accident or serious incident.
• Support members before, during and after Safety Interviews, Company interviews, and ATSB investigations.
• Protect and advance Australia’s aviation safety standards and operational integrity.
• Engage with government, regulators and industry to advocate for the highest levels of flight safety and technical excellence.
• Train and support AIPA safety representatives, ensuring they are equipped to represent pilot interests effectively.
